Forty years ago Robin Knox Johnston sailed across the the Golden Globe finish line at Falmouth harbour completing his historic singlehanded non-stop sail around the world. The Golden Globe sailing race attracted nine entrants, but only Robin Knox-Johnston completed the entire trip, and made it into the record books.
