Yngling Girls sailing at the Olympics

The Olympic sailing crew of Mandy Mulder, Annemieke and Merel Witteveen won today’s sole Yngling class race to close the gap on overall leaders Sarah Webb, Sarah Ayton, Pippa Wilson of Great Britain to just one point.  Should be a great Medal Race on Saturday!

The crew known as Three Blondes in a Boat – Sarah Webb, Sarah Ayton, Pippa Wilson – scored a fifth place in the only Yngling race today, while a bullet for the Dutch crew of Mandy, Annemieke and Merel reduced the British five-point overall advantage down to just one. A third place finish for Sofia Bekatorou, Sofia Papadopoulou and Virginia Kravarioti of Greece moves them up to third overall, one point ahead of Americans Sally Barkow, Carrie Howe and Debbie Capozzi of the US Olympic sailing team.

The Yngling Medal Race is scheduled for SATURDAY at 14:00 local time at the Olympics in China.
