Sailboat aground

Sailboat aground

A 44 foot sailboat, Fast Forward from Ala Wai Boat Harbor, ran aground off Kahala yesterday in Hawaii. The sailboat ran aground about 150 yards offshore at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The boats owner is now attempting to tow the sailboat off the reef during high tide.

It’s not really clear what condition the Fast Forward sailboat is in, or if it is taking on water, but the boat is clearly laying on its side.

The owner of the sailboat says he anchored the boat off Kahala and then paddled into shore to meet with some friends. Somehow, the boat’s anchor came loose and the boat ran aground.
